What are your some ways to stay healthy? Do you have your daily exercise or do you eat healthy foods? Here are 10 healthiest fruits according to Dr. Willie T. Ong.



1. Apple
Apple helps you to lose some weight. It doesn’t have cholesterol and it is a low-calorie snack that is rich in both soluble and insoluble fiber. Apples are best to eat unpeeled because it contains more nutrients like vitamin A, iron and calcium, vitamin C, and pectin.



2. Avocado
It is considered as the most nutritious food in the world. According to nutritionists, avocados contain vitamin C that is necessary to for the production of collagen needed for the growth of new cells and tissues preventing viruses from penetrating cell membrane, thiamine to fuel the brain and nervous system, and riboflavin to help the body to release proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. It also includes vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, copper, iron, phosphorous, magnesium and potassium.



3. Banana
A major study reveals that diets loaded with potassium-rich bananas can help people to cut the risk of strokes by one-third, and can be protected against heart attacks. Alexander the Great described banana as “the heavenly fruit that tasted like nectar sweetened in honey.” Banana is one of the most healthful fruits in the world for it has a significant amount of B-vitamins, especially B1 and B6.



4. Citrus Fruits
Dr. Ong said, “Citrus fruits contain a fair amount of folate and potassium. All citrus fruits contain fiber and have an overflowing amount of vitamin C.” Vitamin C is good for preventing colds, protects the heart and immune system, and may help to alleviate inflammatory conditions like osteoarthritis, asthma, and rheumatoid arthritis.



5. Coconut
It is not actually a fruit but a nut. It is best recommended to people who have diabetes because the sugar coming from coconut is all natural. Nutritionists considered coconut as safe for people who have to watch their glucose level. Another, coco water has more potassium, less sugars, more magnesium, less sodium and more chloride.



6. Grapes
In the Bible, grapes were made into wine. Grapes are believed to have anticancer properties for it contains important ingredients like tannins, flavonoids, and anthocyanins. It is beneficial for those people who are recuperating from an illness, fatigue and anemia.



7. Papaya
Papaya helps in the prevention of heart disease, atherosclerosis and diabetes. It is also a good source of fiber which lowers cholesterol levels and in easing the discomforts of constipation. Folic acid is also found in this fruit that is needed for the conversion of an amino acid, called homocysteine. According to Amy Tousman, a registered dietitian based in Hawaii, “Papaya is low in calories and has more Vitamin C. It also contains lutein and zeaxanthin, vitamin A, potassium, folate and fiber.”



8. Pineapples
This fruit is low in fat and cholesterol. Pineapples can fight viruses that cause cough and colds. It is also loaded and rich with vitamins and minerals including vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, fiber and calories.



9. Strawberry
According to nutritionists, strawberries are packed with vitamins B2, B5, B6, and K, copper and magnesium. Likewise, it contains omega fatty acids, essential fiber and folate. Strawberries are also an excellent source of Vitamin C.



10. Watermelon
According to Dr. Ong, watermelon is safe for your stomach because its water is said to be made of 92-percent alkaline water. It is an excellent source of vitamin C, a very good source of vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B6 and magnesium.
