Landed Houses
If you buy a house, you will also own the whole piece of land. Spare land area is one of the factors that could be used to improve the living quality, such as landscaping it into a beautiful garden or maybe just a recreational space for children and pets. However, landed properties generally appreciate better in long-term, compared to high-rise properties. Thus, if there is a large population, then there will be more rapid development and the prime land will cost more expensive. The life expectancy of a landed property will definitely outlive those of a high-rise property.
High-Rise Properties (Condominium)
Perimeter security of most high-rise properties is usually stricter than the landed houses because condominiums provide 24/7 security monitoring and better security. These properties often provide access to certain amenities such as golf courses, clubhouses, and fitness facilities, that wouldn’t be affordable for a house owner. Maintenance is another factor because condominium owners will have to pay monthly for the maintenance fees. On the other hand, a condominium unit could be just or one-third of the cost of a landed property.
Although they have different types of needs and have their own merits, as long as you can afford to buy a landed property or a condominium, it’s up to you where do you want to live with your loved ones and have a comfortable home.
