Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin replies to one of the tweets in the official Twitter account of ABS-CBN: “Fix your headline.”

On May 12, during the #LabanKapamilya Facebook Live discussion, Locsin was one of the Kapamilya stars who defended their home network against the cease and desist order given by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

Aside that it can affect the lives of its employees, Locsin stressed out that shutting down the said TV network will also hinder the information and updates about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) to reach the public.

“Ang pagpapasara po ng network sa gitna ng pandemiya ay hindi po solusyon at hindi po makakatulong sa maraming Pilipino,” stated Locsin.

However, based on the screenshot captured by a Twitter user @iamneithannn, the post of ABS-CBN News about this was seemingly sounded far from what the actress had said.

The headline of the said Twitter post said, “Angel Locsin: Taking ABS-CBN off air puts public safety at risk during pandemic.” Meanwhile, in an article on the site of ABS-CBN, its title was, “Angel Locsin: ‘Taking ABS-CBN off air amid pandemic doesn’t help majority of Filipinos.’”

Because of this, Locsin replied to the said tweet, “Fix your headline.” She also replied to a comment of a netizen, saying, “Madalas na mabiktima ang mga artista rin sa mga maling headline sa halos lahat ng sumusulat…especially tabloid. Lahat.”

As of writing, the said tweet of ABS-CBN had already been deleted.

Some of the netizens commented regarding this.

According to Twitter user @jremly15, “Tsk tsk. Sana iquote na lang ho mismong sinabi ni Ms. Angel. This might be interpreted differently by the public.”

This might be the exact reason why most of the Filipinos do not like the ABS-CBN’s news department, said Twitter user @priscomateo.

“Yes. I saw your video and I heard nothing to that effect. Inaccurate headlines can make things worse than they already are,” added another Twitter user @JenWik8.
